The website Montray Kwéyòl provides a a rich collection of articles and information on a a diverse array of themes and topics related to creole from many sources in the Caribbean and around the world.
In the battle of ideas on the minefield of cultural hegemony, Montray Kwéyòl does not shy away from highlighting the burning questions, the controversial ones. In so doing, it might rub some salt in wounds, pilé zotèy or blésé bobo..that’s expected and so too are the reactions of the …sa ki pa kontan….who will invariably maté soté kwaché toufé… However, Montray can’t exist as the proverbial sòl with limited vision. It can’t be content to place difficult questions under the carpet just to enjoy the peace of the cemetery. Montray Kweyol must necessarily bring them out into the open. It is by constantly questioning and challenging ourselves, our beliefs and our practices that we can advance our creole culture and by extension, our contribution to world civilization.
