FACE A L’INDUSTRIE BOLLYWOODIENNE, LE BON CINÉMA TAMOUL S’AFFIRME AUSSI

FACE A L’INDUSTRIE BOLLYWOODIENNE, LE BON CINÉMA TAMOUL S’AFFIRME AUSSI

{ {{Qui a dit qu’il n’y a que des acteurs pâlots ou gominés dans le cinéma indien ?}} }

{{ {Onbathu Roopai Nottu}, le dernier film de Thankar Bachan met en lumière les enfants de la terre tamoule. Il veut contribuer à la redécouverte de l’identité et de la culture, face à la modernisation rampante…}}

{{ONBATHU ROOPAI NOTTU : A TAMIL BONANZA!}}

{ {{"If people refuse to watch good Tamil films, then we will beat the viewers and make them to watch good movies. It's our duty to the society and none can prevent us."}} }

This is what Thankar Bachan said at the audio launch of his new film {Onbathu Roopai Nottu}. It is not a surprise for people who are well informed about the kind of person that he is.

In his speech after the launch of the audio CD yesterday, Thankar said: "We are sons of the soil. We are here to rediscover our identities and save our culture from this so-called modernization. Many times I have ashamed to be here as an average cinema technician with out doing anything about it.

I have decided to create a movement to make the viewers to watch good movies. If they rejected, we will force them, if need even beat them to watch decent films made by Tamil directors like me and Seeman…"

Though there aren't any nine rupee notes in our India, noted cinematographer Thankar Bachan has gone ahead and named his film {Onbathu Roopai Nottu}.

It also happens to be the title of a novel written by him. Ever since Thankar Bachan donned the role of a filmmaker, he has been making films that are not run of the mill.

Whether it is Azhagi, starring Nandiat Das and Parthipan, or the recent Paliikoodam with Narain, Sneha and Thankar Bachan himself, his films are different.

2007 has been an excellent year for Satyaraj, who plays the lead. In Periyar, he gave a performance that may even win him a national award. This year's Diwali release,Kannamoochi Enada saw him as a superbly comical police officer.

In {Onbathu Roopai Nottu}, he plays a villager.

Acting with him is the national award winning actress, Achana. The coming together of these two excellent performers is definitely be a treat to the lovers of good cinema.
